The Godfather Part II

The Godfather Part II is often cited as the rare example of a sequel that equals or even surpasses the original. Both a sequel and a prequel, the film extends the tragic story of Michael Corleone and his family into the late 1950s while looking back at young Vito (Robert De Niro in an Oscar-winning performance) and his experience as an immigrant in New York, in a gorgeously crafted production rich with novelistic detail.
