In this compelling thriller based on historical accounts, O’Neal infiltrates the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party to get information on deputy chairman Fred Hampton (Daniel Kaluuya), targeted by the FBI as a radical threat. The film was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Original Screenplay, Cinematography, and Best Supporting Actor for both Stanfield and Kaluuya, who took home the Oscar.
